LICR Lotus Group - Love, Opportunity, Trust, Understanding, SupportLong Island Women’s Addiction Treatment Services

While Long Island Center for Recovery (LICR) provides inpatient addiction treatment for both men and women, women face unique challenges with addiction. Because of these unique challenges, LICR offers a specialized women’s group for women addiction treatment services. In these group sessions, women in our program discuss their own experiences as a woman dealing with addiction, while an individualized gender-specific therapeutic treatment is developed for each one of our female clients. Long Island Center for Recovery Women’s Group offers an atmosphere of acceptance, hope, and support, creating the foundation needed for women to work through their challenges in a positive manner. Our women’s addiction treatment services and group sessions are led by experienced addiction treatment professionals and our therapeutic treatment follows a non-confrontational approach based on awareness and understanding.

Women’s Addiction Treatment Program

The highlights of issues and needs women face throughout their addiction treatment include:

  • The role of relationships—including family and partners

  • Co-occurring disorders (including anxiety, mood, and eating disorders); and
  • Trauma-related issues (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, domestic violence, etc.)

In addition to women’s group therapeutic services, women receiving addiction treatment services at Long Island Center for Recovery take part on all traditional and holistic therapeutic services as well as recreational activities pertaining to their treatment program. We offer many levels of care based on the individual needs of each woman.
