Beginning substance use treatment—especially in a residential or inpatient rehab setting—can naturally bring feelings of anxiety, fear, or discomfort. These feelings are normal. This is something new, and new can feel unfamiliar. But please know: you’ve made a courageous decision, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
From the moment you arrive, both our staff and your peers will help ensure that you feel welcomed, supported, and safe. You’ll be guided through a counselor-led orientation group, where you’ll learn more about what to expect in our rehab program during your stay and how our program works. Additionally, a peer greeter—someone who has been in your shoes—will show you around and help you get comfortable in your new environment.
At Long Island Center for Recovery Inc., our goal is to ease your transition and help you feel at home so you can focus fully on your healing. We’re honored to be part of your journey.
